چکیده مقاله:

interoductionThe number of wound dressing demands are growing due to different diseases. Electrospinning is an economical and alluring method to fabricate wound dressing mats from a variety of natural and synthetic materialsObjectivesUsing starch nanofiber in tissue engineering is novel due to the challenges of starch electrospinning.MethodsIn this study, PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) and starch composite mats containing ciprofloxacin (CIP) loaded on titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) are prepared. FTIR spectra of synthesized TiO2 NPs, TiO2/CIP, and PVDF/Starch composite mats are analyzed.ResultsSEM images reveal that fiber diameter of PVDF/Starch (P/S) thickens by increasing starch content which varies between 100 nm and 350 nm, however, the addition of TiO2/CIP leads to increase the fiber diameter to 700 nm. Strain at break of PVDF, P/S (1/2), P/S (1/1), P/S (2/1) and starch nanofiber are 103±9 %, 52±6 %, 27±4 %, 5±1%, and 2±1 % respectively. Based on strain at break, P/S (2/1) is selected as a candidate for wound dressing to load TiO2/CIP as a bioactive agent. ConclusionThe release rate of CIP shows that about 40 % of the drug is released in the first 2 days. Furthermore, the antibacterial activities of dressing were investigated using E. coli and S. aureus microorganisms and zones of clearance were obvious around the specimenon the agar plate
