چکیده مقاله:

IntroductionBones as the main component of the human body skeleton important responsibilities could interface with severalinjuries including fractures, tumors, osteoporosis etc. Various strategies have been performed to provide appropriate therapies for the treatment of bone injuries. Between them, tissue engineering has been introduced as the promising approach for regeneration of damaged bone tissue. Bone scaffolds are typically made of porous materials with appropriate size and interconnectivity that provide the mechanical support during repair and regeneration of diseased bone. In addition, biomaterials used in the fabrication of scaffolds also play an important role in its biological properties, such as biocompatibility and bioactivity.ObjectivesDue to the appropriate physical-chemical properties, nylon 6 has been introduced as a promising polymer for bone tissue engineering. The aim of this study was to develop nylon 6 scaffold with appropriate pore size and interconnected porosity for bone growth.MethodsIn this respect, cuttlefish bone was applied as a sacrificial template for the construction of scaffold.ResultsResults showed the formation of three-dimensional nylon 6 with desirable mechanical and structural properties for the regeneration of damaged bone tissue
