A sensitivity - based finite element model (FEM) Updating method is presented to extract nonlinear joint parameters by using experimental model data. Nonlinear coupling , simulated by thin layer interface elements with nonlinear elastic -plastic material which is capable to represent the stick and micro slipstates of joint behavior.
