چکیده مقاله:

Lubricating oil additives (LOAs) are used to enhance the performance of lubricants and functional fluids. Phenolic compounds, 2,6- di-tertiary butyl para-cresol and 2,6-di-tert.- butyl para-cresol (DBPC) known as butylated hydroxy toluene (BHT) used in industrial lubricant oil such as turbine oil, transformer oil, hydraulic oil and machine oil serving as antioxidant inhibitor. The dosage of free phenol in oil is about 55-60 ppm. Oil can inter the waste water through different ways such as Leakage of the lubricant oil in system or washing the generation unit. Phenols are a group of special interest due to their high toxicity and low biodegradability. Because phenol is soluble in water so can transfer from oil to aqueous phase and make it polluted. The removal of phenol from water has been studied by ozone and catalyzed ozonation with titanium oxide. The effectiveness of catalytic degradation of phenol in several pHs was evaluated
