چکیده مقاله:

The issue of selection of translation quality assessment has received much attention in recentyears. The translation’s model can affect the translated text and change the quality of them.Translation quality seems to be challenging, thus, this study aimed to evaluate the quality of twotranslations based on a framework. The two existing translations of Alice Munro’s Dear Life (done by Saboori and Daghighi) had been assessed based on House’s translation qualityassessment (TQA) model. The comparison of the translation on the basis of the source text madeit possible to determine whether the text was translated covertly or overtly. Moreover, this papercompared the source text with its translations in order to detect the mismatches and matchesbetween the original text and the translations. The analysis of the data revealed overt translationwas more frequently applied in the translations by Saboori and Daghighi which had helped toconvey the meaning more successfully due to nature and the style of writing used in the book Dear Life by Alice Munro. In this study, both translators had used overt translation more thancovert translation. It revealed that Saboori s translation had used overt translation more thanDaghighi’s translation.
