Length-weight relationship of white fish (Squalius cephalus) in the Kashkan River of Lorestan province

The aim of this study was to investigate the length-weight relationship (LWR) of Squalius berak in the Kashkan River of Lorestan province. For this purpose, 62 fish samples were caught from Kashkan River in September 2017 using Electrofishing. The sampled fish were fixed in 10% formalin and transferred to the laboratory. Total length (TL) of each fish was measured using calipers to the nearest 0.1 mm. Body weight of fish samples were weighed using digital balance. The length range of fish was 112-375 mm, and mean body length and weight of fishes were 226.59 mm and 178.17 g, respectively. The W= aLb formula was used to determine the length-weight relationship. Based on the results, there was a significant correlation with high correlation coefficient (r2=0.98) between the length-weight data of fishes (P<0.05). The b value was also obtained 3.21, which indicated positive allometric growth pattern for this species
