چکیده مقاله:

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a toxic and corrosive gas causes safety and environmental problems in oil and gas industry. It could be found as a constituent of formation gases, generated water, hydrocarbons, or even liquid sulfur. Accordingly, the efficiency evaluation of H2S scavenger additive in removing catastrophic hydrogen sulfide gas is significant. In this regard, the performance of glyoxal-based and triazine-based scavengers discussed and compared. The influence of reservoir temperature, acid spending (pH) and concentration on the performance of 15% HCl solution which containing scavenger additive as well as required stimulation chemicals were investigated. The results illustrates that the triazine-based additives outperform other one in high concentration, temperature and elevated pH condition. It can be attributed to better compatibility with other additives and faster rate of reaction with H2S component in operational condition. Moreover, higher concentration would facilitated the scavenging process by providing the reaction with higher collision probability between scavenger and sulfide species as well as higher reaction sites.
