چکیده
More than two million new cases of breast cancer are estimated to be diagnosed worldwide in 2018, of which approximately 5% are estimated to be due to mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Recent evidence shows that these BRCA-associated breast cancers should receive different, more targeted treatments compared to treatment for those with sporadic breast cancer to decrease risks of new cancers and increase chance of survival. Also, not all sporadic cases will benefit from a same treatment. Gene expression profiling evidences in breast cancer patients showed that a group of hormone positive cases will not benefit from additional chemotherapy to their first-line endocrine therapy. In this talk, we will review the current knowledge about personalized medicine in breast cancer.کلیدواژه ها
