Introduction: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the main causes of death in developing countries. High blood pressure, abnormal lipid condition (dyslipidemia) and diabetes mellitus are considered as risk factors for this condition. On the other hand, reactive oxygen species such as superoxide anion are product during exercise normal cells and reactive properties high these species leads to oxidation of lipids and other biological molecules. it is necessary Balance between the production of reactive oxygen species and antioxidant activity, in the pathogenesis of disease with related to oxidative stress.Methods: In this study review deals examines the relationship Pro-oxidant - antioxidant (PAB) as a pre diagnostic factor in patients with coronary artery disease.Results: Studies show that reactive oxygen species are such as important risk factor in the pathogenesis of some diseases that In which the antioxidant system is damage. in atherosclerosis shows State of increased oxidative stress occurred that lipid and protein oxidation in the artery wall . Oxidative hypothesis of atherosclerosis, indicating LDL oxidation, pre occurrence of disease, which in its oxidized LDL leads to Atherogenesis .Conclusions: According to much several articles Measure of oxidative stress as an important factor in predicting the risk atherosclerosis process, and the balance evaluation peroxide - antioxidants beside with other risk factors may be useful in predicting the risk of cardiovascular events.
