Examination of the impact of massage therapy of infertility treatment in women with Epilepsy

Background: Epileptic women have a higher rate of reproductive and endocrine disorder and one third of Women with Epilepsy (WWE) may experience infertility. the present review aimed to investigate the effect of massage therapy in treating infertility in WWE. Method: The present review was written by searching for Google Scholar and databases, with reviews of 12 intervention articles from 2009-2018. Findings: Studies show that massage appears to increase fertility in WwE. in 3 studies on epileptic women who were hyposexual and orgasm disfunction, 28%-68% women were recoved in the massage therapy group (during 20 min at 8 meeting),so that they had significant statistical differences than the control group. in other studies, at the massage therapy group menstrual abnormalities an on ovulatory cycles had improved,also the incidence of sleep disturbances and the repetition of the seizure attacks decreased significant. stress can theoretically interfere with pregnancy directly, through hormonal effects or directly by hurting a couple s capacity to have effective sexual intercourse. Massage therapy reduce stress by forcing the whole body into deep relaxation and hormone oxytocin and improve infertility Conclusion: The inability to reproduce naturally may lead to varying degrees of depression, anxiety distress and poor quality life in WWE,so it seem that massage therapy is an effective treatment for improving the rate of infertility and increasing the quality of life in WWE.
