چکیده مقاله:
Introduction: Epilepsy is considered as the second most recent neurological complication with sudden and frequent seizures. According to the study, the prevalence of epilepsy in Iran was 5%, estimated at 0.3% to 0.7% in women of childbearing age. This complication is one of The most important chronic neurological diseases that can affect sexual function. Due to the nature of the disease and the use of anticonvulsants and its potential for reproductive and sexual hormones, women with epilepsy encounter many reproductive illnesses (irregular menstruation and infertility) and sexual problems. As a result, this review study aimed to investigate disorders Sexually transmitted in women with epilepsy. method: This review study is available on scientific sites: Pubmed, Embase, MEDLINE. siencedirect Sid, SCOPUS and the Google Scholar search engine with keywords: epilepsy, sexual dysfunction, women and their equivalent in English from 1996 to 2018. The number of preliminary articles, 50 items and the number of final papers, 20, have been reviewed. The articles in the descriptive-cross sectional group were included. Findings:By examining the results of studies conducted in this area, sexual dysfunctions in women with epilepsy have a high prevalence: vaginal dryness, delayed orgasm, decreased libido, Dyspareunia, premature ejaculation, delayed ejaculation, including drought The vagina had the highest percentages and delayed epididymisation of the lower limb. However, the percentage of these disorders was influenced by factors such as age, living environment, marriage, education, seizure per month, and so on. Conclusion: Given that sexual disorders affect about 80% of women with epilepsy, health care providers should consider appropriate ways to reduce these disorders in order to improve their quality of life. On the other hand, they can be given the necessary training In order to facilitate the environment, there was a significant influence on controlling these disorders.
