چکیده

The catalytic conversion of methanol to hydrocarbons of gasoline range has been studied over HZSM-5 Co/ZSM-5 and Cu/ZSM-5. The selectivity of methanol conversion to gasoline has been found to be a function of metal concentration on the catalysts. A compar has been done to study the conversion and yield of different metals doped on the catalyst. The catalysts were prepared by means of dry impregnation technique followed by heat treatment at 550 C for 4 h. The copper and cobalt loading over HZSM-5 (Si/Al= 50) catalyst were 5 wt.% each. These catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The performances of the catalysts were evaluated by conducting experiments in a fixed bed reactor (i.d: 10 mm) made of pyrex. Experiments were conducted at environment pressure and 300 C at constant flow rate of methanol. The major products were water, ethylene, propylene, dimethyl ether, toluene, xylene, ethyl toluene, trimethyl benzene and tetra methylbenzene.Cu/HZSM-5 enhanced the aromatics yield to 9.22 wt. % as compared to yield of 7.30 wt. % over HZSM-5”; “Co/HZSM-5”The product compositions are compared and discussed
