Chitosan structure, properties and applications: a short review

Chitosan is the most important derivative of a valuable molecule by the name of chitin. Chitosan is known to have many beneficial properties such as biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity that make it a promising material in different applications such as cosmetics, textile engineering, water engineering, pharmaceuticals, food processing, agriculture, paper industry and biomedicine. In this paper, we have reviewed promising structure and properties of chitosan and demonstrated its applications in different fields of science and engineering
