خلاصه مقاله:
The effect of polymeric binder on the electrochemical performance of LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 (NCA) cathode used in lithium-ion battery was investigated. NCA cathodes are prepared using six different types of poly vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) as a binder. The adhesion of the electrode material to the current collector was determined by the method of electrode immersion in electrolyte. Cyclability of electrodes made with different binders was tested during 50 cycles. The results show that electrode Type 5 (Arkema Company) has the highest ability to stick active materials to each other and to the aluminium current collector. This electrode also has the highest specific capacity and the highest capacity retention.
