Features of the Automobile Engine Operation Which the EUDC and HWFET Test Cycle is Implemented

To estimate the fuel consumption of the automobile engine in the operating conditions, special testing proceduresdeveloped by experts from the countries of the European Union, Japan and the USA are used on the basis of theUNECE guidelines on environmental safety in the field of vehicles. To exclude the influence of weather conditions, theterrain and the quality of the coating on the results, the tests are carried out in specialized laboratories, on a stand withrunning drums providing the load of the car engine. The driving cycle simulates the movement of the car in the city andon highways that are characteristic of a particular locality. The test procedure strictly specifies test conditions: thecurrent vehicle speed, the choice of transmission in the gearbox, the total weight of the car (including additionalequipment, cargo and passengers), fuel quality, ambient temperature, type of tires, pressure in them and many othersoptions.
