This paper presents two algorithms for solving the presented model for reactive power and voltage control in a power transmission system. The problem is targeted at three objective functions consisting of minimizing active power loss, improving voltage profile and providing voltage stability. Voltage stability, as a crucial concern, is satisfied through L-index. To handle the problem, two separate multi objective optimization approaches based on NSPSO and Fuzzy decision making have been developed. Both algorithms have been applied on a 30 bus standard system and the simulation results have been compared.
