چکیده مقاله:

There is increasing interest in the study of CT complexes of macrocycle molecules with different π and σ-acceptors [1-3]. Interest in molecular complexes of macrocyclic compounds is strongly stimulated by their possible application in different areas such as separation processes, biomimetric receptors, catalyzing chemical reactions and conversion of chemical reactions to optical or electronic signals [4-7]. Themodynamic and kinetic data on such neutral molecule-macrocycle bindings are of critical importance. Here Kinetic of Formation of charge transfer complexes of iodine with 1,10-phenanthroline and two synthetic ligands that are donor macrocycles containing the 1,10-phenanthroline sub-unit was investigated by spectrophptometric and conductometric in chloroform and 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE) solvents. The observed time dependence of conductance, charge-transfer band and subsequent formation of ion in solution were related to the slow transformation of the initially formed outer complex to an inner complex followed by reaction of inner complex with iodine to form a triiodid ion. Effect of solvent properties on pseudo-first order constants evaluated by computer fitting of the absorbance-time data to appropriate equations. The influences the solvent properties on the formation of donor–electron acceptor complexes and the rates of subsequent reactions are discussed.
