خلاصه مقاله:
This paper applies a design tool proposed by the author to a milling machine. The tool combines the form-shaping theory, which is a well-known mathematical expression method of motions of machine tools, to the Taguchi method, which is a well-known robust design tool. The tool is expanded to handle not only component errors but also structural deformations that are usually not considered in the formshaping theory. By the extension, the tool can estimate the effects of design parameters and error factors including structural deformations. The paper concludes that strategic design review of machine tools become available by the design tool
