To Study the Effect of Lifestyle on Health and Infertility of Men: Review

Introduction : Male infertility is detected in 40-50% of infertile couples, and accounts for 20-30% of couples infertility. Lifestyle factors (diet-obesity-smoking ...) have drastic impacts on general health and fertility. This study aimed to investigate the effect of lifestyle on men s health and infertility.Methodology : This study reviewed 10 published articles about men s lifestyle and infertility. It was performed by searching in some famous databases, i.e., Science Direct and ISI Web of Science, using keywords of lifestyle and infertility of men. Subsequently, the main topics and common concepts were explained and analyzed. In this review, the articles had the given keywords in their topic or keywords were selected.Results: According to the results, lifestyle factors (smoking- increases the risk of developing obesity, diet, etc.) can be effective in male fertility. Smoking cardiovascular diseases. The consequences of obesity include the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and some cancers. Following an appropriate food pattern can be effective.Conclusion : proper lifestyle is important for men s reproductive health, since lifestyle is influenced by the culture, socioeconomic factors and general beliefs of a society. The need for interventional plans in this regard is helpful.
