Background: Tamoxifen use in patients with breast cancer may result in vaginal bleeding that recognition of related aspects is important.Purpose: The purpose was to determine the sonographic hysteroscopic and pathologic findings in breast cancer patients under treatment of tamoxifen who were reffered with vaginal bleeding.Methods: In this observational cross-sectional study, 100 consecutive breast cancer patients under treatment of tamoxifen for more than 6 months with vaginal bleeding referred to Imam-Hossein Hospital in 2016 and 2017 were enrolled and the the sonographic , hysteroscopic and pathologic findings were determined in them.Results: The results in this study demonstrated that mean endometrial thickness was 14.5 ± 3.4 mm. The uterine siz was large in 25%. In ultrasonography polyp and myoma were seen in 36% and 15%. In hysteroscopy there 72% with positive findings including 36% and 32% polyp and hyperplasia and 4% atrophy. Also in pathology there were 31% with polyp and 34% with hyperplasia and 4% with atrophy and 5% with cancer. The polyp and hyperplasia and cacner in pathology and histroscopy were related to larger ET and uterine size (P=0.0001).Conclusion: Totally, according to the obtained results it may be concluded that there is statistically significant association between sonographic , hysteroscopic and pathologic findings in breast cancer patients under treatment of tamoxifen and the lesions are usually focal as polyp which leds to larger uterine size and endometrial thickness.
