چکیده
Background and Aim: Dietary inflammatory index (DII) and empirical dietary inflammatory index (EDII) are two indices that are used for studying inflammatory score of diet. Inflammation is associated with many chronic diseases such as obesity. Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism is a candidate gene for susceptibility to obesity. The interaction effect of dietary inflammatory indices and Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism on anthropometric measures and obesity was determined. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 726 diabetic adults, aged 35-65 yrs were included.DII was calculated based on food and nutrients, but EDII was computed based on food groups. The first and the third tertiles were considered as anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory diets, respectively. Results: About anthropometric measures and abdominal obesity no significant change was shown between the tertile of DII and EDII. About general obesity, just in comparison of tertile 3 to 1 of EDII in crude and energy adjusted model it was significantly increased. Although after adjusting for Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism and energy, this association wasn’t significant. This can show that the Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism can have effect on general obesity. No significant interaction effect was shown between dietary inflammatory indices and Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism on anthropometric measures and obesity. Conclusion: The present study didn’t show significant interaction effect between potential inflammation score of diet and Insertion/Deletion Apo B polymorphism on anthropometric measures and obesity. Further studies are needed to reach conclusive results.کلیدواژه ها
