چکیده
Background and Objective: Otitis media (OM) is a general term for the expression of infections with various complications in the middle-ear region. Due to the controversy of reporting the percentage of antibiotic susceptibility in Iranian published papers and lack of accessibility of foreign researchers, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to investigate the overall percent of Antibiotic susceptibility of Otitis media in Iran. Search Method: This systematic review and meta-analysis was based on PRISMA guideline and searching in National databases as SID, Magiran, Irandoc, Noormag, IranMedex and International databases as Web of Sciences, Scopus, PubMed, Cochrane, Embase, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Ebsco, CEBM, CINHAL, SAGE, and Google Scholar search engine were published till 06/02/2018. Researched keywords were in Persian and their English equivalents in accordance with their Mesh and all possible combinations (by using Boolean operators). The obtained documents were analyzed based on appropriate checklist through a random effects model by using Review Manager Software ver: 5.3.5. Findings: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, 137 studies were identified in the initial search. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria and qualitative assessment of the studies, 6 articles conducted from 1994 to 2017 entered the meta-analysis. Azithromycin 53%(95%CI: 40-65), co-trimoxazole 44%(95%CI: 18-70), Cefixine 48%(95%CI: 28-67), Amikacin 41%(95%CI: 0-88), Chloamphenicol 52%(95%CI: 28-76), Tetracycline 65%(95%CI: 49-81), Carbenicillin 48%(95%CI: 6-91), Streptomycin 49%(95%CI: 31-66), Vancomycin 63%(95%CI: 40-87), Ceftrixone 48%(95%CI: 25-72), Penicilin 36%(95%CI: 14-59), Amoxicillin 54%(95%CI: 27-81), Gentamycin 86%(95%CI: 81-90), Ciprofloxacin 81%(95%CI: 65-97). The highest susceptibility was for gentamycin and ciprofloxacin and the lowest sensitivity was for penicillin and amikacin. Conclusion: According to the high antibiotic susceptibility percentage, continuing education for community members and stakeholders in relation to OM, effective treatment, antibiotic resistance, and reduction of treatment costs are essential.کلیدواژه ها
