In this study, we investigated the effect of Metoclopramide as corrosion inhibitor for mild steel(MS) in 0.5 M phosphoric acid solution by electrochemical measurements such as tafelpolarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The inhibition efficiency was found togrow with increasing inhibitor concentration. Metoclopramide showed 97% inhibition efficiencyat concentration of 300 ppm. Adsorption of the inhibitor follows Langmuir adsorption isotherm.The effect of temperature on corrosion rate in absence and presence of these drug was studiedtoo. Some thermodynamic parameters were computed from the effect of temperature on corrosionand inhibition processes. Surface characterization techniques (FTIR and SEM) are used toascertain the nature of the protective film, as well.
