In-vitro Antibacterial Evaluation of Newly Synthesized oxazolidin derivative [(E)-2-Cyano-2-(oxazolidin-2-ylidene) ethanethioamide]against Streptococcus Pneumoniae

چکیده مقاله:

Background: In recent years, the spread of drug-resistant strains of Streptococcus Pneumoniae, as the most common causes of bacterial respiratory infections, threatenspublic health. Therefore, the use of new antimicrobial medicines to inhibit this pathogen is in urgent demand. In this research project, the inhibitory effects of synthesized oxazolidine derivative against S. Pneumoniae. Methods: The broth microdilution method was used to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC), zone diameters of bacterial growth inhibition were also measured by a disk diffusion method. Results: Results showed inhibition effect of oxazolidine derivative on S. Pneumoniae with bacterial growth inhibition = 16.0±1.3 mm, MIC = 256 μg/mL and MBC = 512 μg/mL. Conclusion: This study showed inhibition effect of oxazolidine derivative on S. Pneumoniae in-vitro then in-vivo tests need for detection of toxicity and health effects of this Compound.
