چکیده

Pure Yolk sac tumor (YST) is usually seen in children under 2 years old and is extremely rarein adults. Here we report a case of pure Yolk sac tumor in left testis of 26 years old patient.Microscopic examination showed pleomorphic tumoral cells with large vesicular orhyperchrome nuclei and clear cytoplasm in glandular, solid, diffuse and reticular patterns andnumerous Schiller- Duval body characteristic of YST. Also eosinophilic hyaline bodies andsmall areas of necrosis were notable. Tumor showed diffuse immunoreactivity for AFP andcytokeratin and was non reactive for PLAP, CD30 and Calretinin but CD117 was focallypositive in some areas.We emphasize on importance of thorough sampling of specimen and immunohistochemicalstudies to rule out of mixed germ cell tumors in adults.
