The aim of this study is investigating the mechanical properties of bovine liver tissue using uniaxial loading and numerically analyzing the extracted data. In this test, fresh soft liver tissue was provided from slaughterhouse and after preparing the appropriate samples, compression test was performed on these samples with a strain rate of 0.013 1/s. Then, considering four different types of strain energy density functions and assuming a hyperelastic, homogenous, isotropic and incompressible behavior for liver tissue, material coefficients of various strain energy functions was calculated by fitting the results of experimental measurements. Eventually, it was observed that strain energy density function of Darijani et al. model appropriately matched experimental data with a regression coefficient of 0.999, and strain energy density function of Neo-Hookean model and experimental data had minimum correlation with a regression coefficient of 0.838.
