چکیده

Raising the solid loading in composites leads to increase of initial modules (E) and tensile strength (S) and fall in yield strain (Y). A high performance composite can be obtained by a counterbalance among these properties. Control of modality of solid filler particles is another way to tune the mechanical properties of the composites. In the present research, highly filled polyurethane composite containing aluminum and ammonium perchlorate was selected. In the present research, alteration of mechanical properties of polyurethane composite by variation of solid content (SC) and the amount of coarse-to-fine weight ratio of solid particles (C/F) was investigated. The effect of SC and C/F on typical mechanical properties of the composites such as E (initial modulus), S (tensile strength) and Y (elongation at yield strain) were modeled by quadratic equation. Modeling is carried out by excellent agreement for all three external properties by adjusted R-square value equal to 0.95. This model successfully predicted response behaviors by SC, C/F and their interactions, so one can design an optimum formulation based on SC and C/F in order to obtain desirable mechanical properties of a typical highly filled composite
