چکیده

The purpose of the process hazard analysis (PHA) is not to recognize minor slips or falls. In fact, the recognition and prevention of such minor issues is part of the responsibilities of a company’s general requirements for safety and should carefully be performed. PHA intends to recognizemajor incidents that have the potential to bring about severe damages. The available limits for the hazardous materials have been determined by the regulations of the U.S. occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) and also the environmental protection agency (EPA). Thementioned regulations make petroleum companies apply all elements of process safety management (PSM) to all of their equipment. The present paper aims to present a proposed technique for HAZOP study in the petroleum, gas, and petrochemical industries
