The Relationship between Quality of Life and Sexual Quality of Life in Women with Breast Cancer

Introduction & Aim: Cancer is one of the major health problems in Iran and the world. The usual methods for treating breast cancer have a potential impact on the quality of life and the quality of women s sexual health. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the relationship between quality of life level and sexual quality of life in women with breast cancer.Methods: This study was descriptive-analytic. The study population included 107 women with breast cancer who were registered In the Pathology Centers, the Cancer Registry was registered with the Department of Health and the Clinic of Special Diseases in the years 2012_2016. Quality of life questionnaire and sexual quality of life were used to collect data. Data were collected by SPSS19 software and analyzed by descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, T-test, one way ANOVA, Tukey, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, and Pearson correlation coefficients.Results: Mean quality of life and sexual quality of life were 3.11 ± 0.56, 3.69 ± 1. 1, respectively. Pearson correlation coefficient showed a positive and significant correlation between quality of life and sexual quality of life (P <0.05). Also, there was a significant relationship between quality of life and age, education level, occupation and income status.Conclusion: The results of the study showed that there is a positive correlation between quality of life and sexual life quality. Therefore, efforts to improve the quality of life of women through educational interventions are very important.
