Evaluation of 7 years breast cancer data gathered from pathology s reports in Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) from 2008 to 2014

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and is a major cause of death in most human societies. This study aimed to investigate the incidence of breast cancer during the 7 years (the years 2008 to 2014) in the population covered by the Medical University in Iran. Materials and Methods: This study was a descriptive analysis and Data collection was done from prefilled forms that sent by pathologies that covered by Iran University of Medical Sciences geographically and reread and analysis of national cancer registries in software. Results: Numbers of patients From information gathered in the years 2008 to 2014 respectively was 13904-11068 - 15537 - 18298-21781 - 23210-23948, the rate of breast cancer from 16.07 % in 2008 reached to 21.17% in 2014. The highest incidence breast cancer in all 7 years 2008 to 2014, are in the age group 40 to 49 years and then 50 to 59 years. The rate of breast cancer in men, from 6.21% in 2008 to reached 1.75% in 2014. Conclusion: The result shows that cancer cases is increasing, as well as breast cancer has been the trend in recent years, According to the results, it seems, planned and implemented are necessary in order to reduce the incidence of cancer, especially breast cancer and breast cancer screening and earlydetection.
