The model of improving the quality of Universities in urban development (knowledge-based city) Case study: Mazandaran-Babolsar University

Today, University is an institute we refer based on the needs of society to evaluate, analyze and find the answer to important issues. Many researchers believe that higher education development should be consistent with the regional capabilities. In other words, its quantitative and qualitative development should be based on the needs of the society. The most important purpose of this study is improving the quality of Mazandaran University in the development of Babolsar city. The applied statistical methods in this study are divided into descriptive and inferential statistical methods. To evaluate and describe the general features of the respondents, descriptive statistical methods including the table of frequency distribution and mean are used. Also, the data are analyzed using SPSS statistical software. In the present study, Cronbach’s alpha method is used as it is the basis of reliability evaluation in the majority of researches. The study population is citizens of Babolsar city. For sampling, 181 samples of the study population are selection and stratified random sampling by Morgan Table is applied. The results of study show that Mazandaran University with 15,000 graduates in the society has admitted 9’645 students for education. Now, this higher education center in accordance to the policies of ministry of science, research and technology has various goals in science and research production, educational services and cultural activities in thought exchange and actualization of the talents of the elite generation of the society. By taking some strategies in civil plan, educational scheduled plans, projects and research plans, this University has great activities.
