چکیده
Introduction: Fat necrosis is a benign inflammatory process with involvement of adipose tissue anywhere in body which is explained in the breast in 1920.This entity can be occurred in breast with history of surgery or trauma or without any positive previous history.. Information about clinical and radiological appearance of this lesion is so important because it can mimic breast cancer.In this article we would like to review and compare features of fat necrosis in imaging modalities and then correlation of imaging findings with pathologic features..Conclusion: Appearance of fat necrosis in all imaging modalities is variable from definitely benign type(B2) to highly suspicious for malignancy.Speceficity of mammography is more than sonography ,so for definite diagnosis of fat necrosis emphasis should be put on mammography rather than sonography. There are a lot of features for fat necrosis in MRI.In confusing cases according to mammography and sonography MRM may be helpful in showing findings in favor of fat necrosis.T2 fat saturated images is a especial sequence for evaluation of fat necrosis. However suspicious morphologic and kinetic features (type 2 and 3 )may be seen which needs tissue diagnosis for R/O new or recurrent breast cancer .کلیدواژه ها
