چکیده

Introduction: Paget’s disease of the breast is rare described by the involvement of the epidermis by Paget cells.Clinical presentations included changes in the nipple and areolar, itching, erythema, scaly skin and nipple erosion or ulceration. The main differential diagnosis was eczema. This report also aims to describe clinical presentation, mammographic findings, and histopathology of Paget’s disease of the breast. Methods and materials: For this cross-sectional study data were evaluated from 9 patients with Paget’s disease who underwent surgury at Rajaee and Velayat Hospitals between March 2007 and November 2013. The data from these participants were obtained by a check list (clinical presentation, mammographic findings) and review of speciemens. Both descriptive and statistical analysis methods were applied. Results: The mean age of the patients were 31–57 years. All of them presented with symptoms suggestive of Paget’s disease. Five of these nine patients also had associated palpable mass. Four patients presented with bloody nipple discharge. Of the seven mammographic studies, two were negative. Surgical resection was performed in five patients. Pathological findings were ductal carcinoma in situ (1), invasive ductal carcinoma (4), invasive lobular carcinoma (2), and only Paget’s disease of the nipple without underlying breast carcinoma (2).Conclusion: Breast Paget’s diseases have a high association with an underlying breast carcinoma. Therefore for as soon as diagnosis of breast carcinoma, mammography should be performed
