Study of cytotoxic effects of Zingiber officinale hydroalcoholic extract on the 4T1 cell line derived from mouse mammary tumors in BALB/c and camparison with drugtaxol

چکیده

Incident of breast cancer is increasing in developing countries and the most common malignant disease among women in the world. Zingiber officinale is the most important medicinal plants and its special flavor due to mixture of zingeron, shogaol, gingerol and ginger oils that make up 3% by weight and its fat in mice have shown anti-cancerproperties. Materials and Methods In this study, the hydroalcoholic extract obtained by Soxhlet and cancer cell line 4T1 provided from the cell bank of Pastor, then Cancer cells treated with Zingiber officinale hydroalcoholic extract and taxol and was assessed their viability by using MTT test and morphological changes where done with Propidium iodied test. Results Effect of Zingiber officinale hydroalcoholic extract on cancer cells line 4T1 were dose and time dependent and increased power cytotoxicity of taxol. Discussion and Conclusion Zingiber officinale hydroalcoholic extract had cytotoxic effect on cancer cells line 4T1 and could increased effect drug taxol. after, increasing dilution of the extract with the drug taxol growed inhibition of cancer cells significantly increased.
