چکیده
Introduction: By increasing breast cancer prevalence, it will be expected toface in rare pathology of this cancer one of them is metaplastic breast cancer(MeBC). Based on WHO definition this subype is an adenocarcinoma mixedwith dominant areas of spindle cell, squamous and mesencyal differentiation.Because of lack of data about this type of cancer we make a mini review to fillthis gap.Method: we conduct our search in pub med and find 483 articles contain 52review in case report model.Result: the incidence of metaplastic breast cancer is 0.5%with median age of50- 60. At presentation most of them are node negative but their tendency fordistant metastasis is high. Result of IHC for ER, PR and Her2 is usuallynegative, therefore it is often classified as triple negative group. In comparewith invasive ductal carcinoma for small tumours mastectomy is used more formetaplastic breast cancer but in larger tumour they are similar. There is higherfrequency for Local recurrence in consequence of this Radiotherapy has beenrecommended. In patient with metastatic disease the median survival prognosisis poor because of dismal response to conventional chemotherapy. It makesuncertainty about benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy. Oncologists hope thattargeted therapy could be helpful.کلیدواژه ها
