چکیده

Today Cancer is one of the main causes of death in the world and the most common form of cancer in women is breast cancer. Anastrozole is one of the anti breast cancer that is in the aromatase-inhibiting family of medications and used to prevent breast cancer in those at high risk. The main goal of many anti-cancer drugs is DNA. According to studies, some changes have a very important role in regulating transcription. Therefore, the study of the interaction of anti-cancer drugs-DNA is important for a better understanding of their mechanism and design of newer and more effective drug compounds. we have investigated the interaction of Anastrozole with calf thymus DNA by using a number of biophysical techniques to get an insight and better understanding of the interaction mechanism. The flourescence emission spectra of Anastrozole was investigated in the presence of various concentrations of DNA. The results show that increasing the concentration of DNA reduces the emission intensity, which means the formation of a complex. The quenching mechanism was investigated using the Stern-Volmer diagram which is static type. Competitive emission spectrum was performed with using of ethidium bromide and acridine orange. the fluorescence of AO–DNA and EB-DNA quenches efficiently by adding Anastrozole, which means the creation of competition between the ligand and the probes that shows anastrozole might be intercalator ligand
