چکیده مقاله:

Metastasis is known as one of important factors associated with cancer related death worldwide. It has been showed that a variety of cellular and molecular targets involved in metastasis process. Among of them, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) have central roles in cancer metastasis. MMps could contribute to tumor growth, angiogenesis, migration, and invasion via degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) and activation of pre-pro-growth factors. Therefore, identification of various cellular and molecular pathways which affect on MMPs could contribute to more understanding of metastatic pathways involved in various tumors. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are one of important targets which could affect on MMPs. MiRNAs are known as small non-coding RNAs which play critical roles in various biological processes such as angiogenesis, differentiation, and growth. It has been showed that deregulation of these molecules could be associated with initiation and progression of various cancers. It has been showed that miRNAs exert their effects via affecting on a variety of cellular and molecular targets such as MMPs. Multiple lines evidence indicated that deregulation of various miRNAs including miR-9, Let-7, miR-10b and miR-15b via targeting MMPs affect on metastasis of tumor cells. Here, we summarized various miRNAs involved in metastasis via targeting MMPs.
