Nipple Discharge: A Short Review On Diagnostic And Therapeutic Approaches

Nipple discharge is a main concern for most women during their reproductive age; most complaintand visit to doctors are mainly in regard of breast and it can be one of the symptoms for breastcancer. There is a weak relationship between nipple discharge and breast cancer. The mainobjective of this review was to summarize and update information about nipple discharge.Intraductal papilloma was the most common cause of nipple discharge. Each diagnostic method hasits strengths and weaknesses, therefore, no definitive diagnostic method exists to find the cause ofthe cancer, but ductoscopy is very useful. In addition, excision of the main ducts is currently thetreatment of choice.
