Study on Sediment Quality in the cage fish culture area of the southern Caspian Sea with Emphasis on Contamination of Metal Elements Indices

چکیده

This study was conducted to determine some metal elements concentrations (sediment) in the southern of Caspian Sea. 75 surface sediments samples were collected at three stations from autumn of 2011 to winter of 2012. All samples were perpaired by digesting and extracting processes and then determined using Atomic Absortion Spectroscopy instrument. Results of current study showed that mean values of the examined metals in surface sediment samples were noted in this rank Zn> Cr> Ni> Cu> Pb> Cd> Hg. The mean values of Igeo were ranked IgeoPb> IgeoZn> IgeoCu> IgeoCr> IgeoNi> IgeoCd and for enrichment factor were EFPb> EFZn> EFCu> EFCr> EFNi> EFCd> EFHg. The mean values of the contamination factor were registered CFCd> CFPb> CFZn> CFCu> CFCr> CFNi> CFHg. In conclusion, the results revealed that the mean concentrations Cd of sediments samples based on Ggeoaccumulation index (Igeo) were showed modrated polluted conditions for this regions. Cu, Cr, Ni and Cd of sediments samples based on Enrichment factor (EF) were showed no enrichment conditions for this region. The Caspian Sea sediments were classified low polluted based on CF, Cd and PLI.
