چکیده

The main idea behind Internet of Things (IoT) is toconnect more and more things to the Internet and it has the power to make a big change in the world, as the Internet or Cellphone did before. It seems that IoT is following footsteps of the works on the Internet domain; after connecting networks through the Internet, we are now seeking to connect more things using this vast web based structure. Using this technology, we can make a connection between physical things in the real world, humans and the systems they use. But like other network connections, IoT has to deal with some challenges. In this paper, a general survey on IoT challenges is presented, also we discuss how some of these challenges is solved and on the other hand, the problems that could accrue. Moreover, we provide a report of current works on IoT domain in developed countries such as China and Germany, considering the important role of the governments in developing and spreading the next industrial revolution, IoT. Finally, an overview of the applications of IoT in different city life aspects including their benefits is given.
