چکیده مقاله:

Objective: In this survey seven antifungal drugs were used in various doses: griseofulvin, sodium iodide, Caryophilium aromaticum powder, nistatin, levamisole, sodium chloride and potassium permanganate to control and prevent the growth of Saprolegnia in laboratory condition. Method & Materials: Sabouraud dextrose agar containing 0.5, 1, and 5ppm of griseofulvin, Caryophilium aromaticum powder, nistatin, sodium iodide, levamisole, sodium chloride and potassium permanganate were prepared. The sterile agar was divided in plates and Saprolegnia parasitic samples were cultured in the middle of plates. Plates were incubated at 200◦C and the inhibition zone was recorded after 6 days. Results & Conclusion: Results showed that potassium permanganate, sodium chloride, griseofulvin and sodium iodide, Caryophilium aromaticum powder, nistatin, levamisole were effective to prevent growth of Saprolegnia, by 95%, 80%, 70%, and 50%, respectively. These findings indicated that all of these drugs in specific doses and times, can significantly prevent the growth of Saprolegnia and their mycelia, so, they are compatible with other chemical drugs. On the other hand, they do not have disadvantages of malachite green and formalin, so they will be very important in the future of fish production and aquatic breeding and they could be good replacement for currently available drugs.
