چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this paper is that in the era of globalization how the relationship between urban development and connectivity, cohesion and digital connection is established. Therefore, for reaching to this object, this research contains concepts of postmodern urbanism and six discourses on the so-called Postmetropolis. Also in this article the story of the rise of the network society is explained. Elements of secession and segregation in global cities are explained. Contradictions are described, including: spatial connectivity and cohesion in practice. The layers of digitalization in the urban environment are explained, including; housing areas, centers of commerce, traffic and infrastructure, leisure areas etc. these layers are actually complemented by additional virtual layers that created by the internet and information. Conclusions of this research including; Cities of Excess or the end of the neoliberal city Not all urban geographers welcome such ideas, but from a geographer’s viewpoint, a smart city is a mixed city with recognition of the urban heritage. Good governance suggested as one solution that can help to develop from a government driven to a consumer driven urban development.
