Wireless networks are inherently susceptible to a wide range of attacks among which the falsification attacks can be easily implemented without requiring high efforts on the attacker’s side. This paper proposes a framework for NS2 simulator which is capable of performing different forms of falsification attacks by exploiting security vulnerability of the beacon frames. The framework can craft malformed beacon frames containing incorrect information and transmit them to the target wireless networks to disrupt their normal performance. The framework also can evaluate the efficiency of the attacks by measuring and quantifying the level of performance degradation. The results show that the attacks highly degrade the overall functionality of the wireless networks
