چکیده

Nowadays, with the developments in technology, some steps have been taken to convert cities to smart city around the world. To build a smart city based on different technologies in different areas of the city would be the best way to tackle a variety of problems. In fact, the main objective of the smart city is to provide technology-based solutions to solve the problems of the city. Smart city includes different components such as smart environment, smart government, smart people, smart mobility, smart living and smart economy. The aim of this study is to investigate characteristics and factors of a smart city and also development strategies and activities in Iran. The research method is descriptive – analytic. Various cities have been chosen as a smart city based on certain factors across the world. Iranian cities, Particularly Tehran, have been taking some measures in order to would be considered as a smart city. In this paper, with introducing various models of smart city, the activities that has been done would be expressed.
