Inspirations from nature as a Method for Sustainable Architectural Design

Nature always considers the best solution for adapting with the ecosystem. Biomimicry which, defines as imitation or getting inspiration from nature has been discussing as a solution for overcoming the problems. By utilizing this approach, recently some Architects and urban designers have endeavored to create more sustainable designs. In this paper, we discuss the advantage of Biomimicry’s application in the architectural design in different terms. Furthermore, we argue how this method could be as a pattern for sustainable designing. To answer the research questions, we analyzed some of the best Biomimicry architectural projects in different terms as a way of understanding Biomimicry’s in design process. The result of this study shows the relation between the hand of a designer and natural forces leveraged by producing a material or form or structure in order to control or produce resources in terms of internal or external critics or parameters, to achieve more sustainable design.
