Behavior of RC Beams Subjected to blast loading

Numerical modeling using finite element software LS-DYNA is carried out to assess thebehavior of RC beams subjected to blast loading. Numerical results are validated againstthe results of laboratory experiments. Then, the intensity of explosion on the beam isinvestigated. Assessing the intensity of the explosion on the beam indicates that amongdifferent explosive loading conditions with the same maximum level of pressure appliedto the beam, the loading condition with the higher duration time is much more criticalfrom the viewpoints of displacement, crack growth and, failure mode.
