چکیده مقاله:

In this study, open and sealed fractures as well as bedding structures have been detected in reservoir interval of one of the hydrocarbon fields in southern Iran, using image logs. The study field is an anticlinal structure having nearly a north-south trend. Fracture parameters were calculated using FMI logs with the help of Geolog software. For this purpose, two wells A and B, drilled, respectively, in the eastern and western flanks of the anticline and near the hinge zone, have been studied. The fractures in the same reservoir intervals of the two wells have been compared. The results revealed that the majority of the observed fractures are open fractures with approximately NW-SE and NE-SW trends. A comparison of the fractures in the both wells showed that the Madud Formation and the Mishrif Formation are naturally fractured carbonate intervals, that their reservoir quality is highly related to the fractures system.
