چکیده

Aim: The aim of this study intended to assess the psychosocial support program in promoting peoples readiness to respond to potential disasters and to manage the crisis through a wide network of national and local communities. Methods: In this descriptive study, observation and interview were used to collect data. The program includes a workshop with maneuver in Kashan province in 2013. Results: The findings of the study suggest high motivation and collaboration of people participating in the maneuver, well participation of key members and authorities of IMS and ICS, observing the hierarchy and integrity of command by field command staffs and operational command staffs of welfare organization, timely logging and reporting, participation of all vulnerable people in maneuver, clear division of labor between MOHEB groups, orderly and partially secure transferring of vulnerable groups to welfare organization’s camps, lacking of loss of life and damage to property in maneuver. Conclusions: Based on the results obtained, People have low skills and knowledge about dealing with disasters and it implies that they are unprepared to deal with disasters. According to the findings, it will recommend that: In order to create and maintain a Disaster Preparedness, Continuing education programs must be prepared to deal with disasters. Thus, the necessity of implementing such a program and its continuation in the province and other provinces might be true or a fact .
