A sustainable architecture to tackleMCC-commerce Design Challenges Using Software Design Patterns

With substantial rise in popularity of handheld devices, enterprises have tempted toinvest on delivering their services via these devices. Meanwhile, they endeavor to achievesustainability economically and environmentally. Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC)promise sustainability through empowering its tenants to develop their services using costefficientcloud practices. However, mobile devices infuse various problems and forces intothis context. In order to tackle these challenges and assure a high performance andsustainable MCC, this study applied practical design choices to e-commerce MCCenvironments. It is based on extracting main issues and challenges in current e-commerceapplications and addressing them via proven design patterns. As a result a catalogue ofmain challenges, considerations and guidelines related to employing MCC in e-commercescenarios is achieved. Research is continued with a proposal and discussion of a prototypeMCC-commerce system by integrating the proposed patterns in the body of a softwarearchitecture.
