The present study was conducted to investigate EFL students‟ perceptions and perspectives for an English only policy in university level and to determine their teacher s‟ practices of these perceptions.Moreover, it was intended to highlight the relationship between the literature and actual practice in terms of useof only English. To fulfill this purpose, one hundred and twenty university students majoring English studying in two universities took part in this study. As a further step, twenty four instructors teaching English students in universities were called for cooperation. A 26-item questionnaire on English only policy developed by athorough study of literature was employed to elicit information for the study. Frequency distributions were calculated to analyze the Likert-scale responses for students‟ perceptions and also the instructors‟ practices of anonly English policy. Results indicated that instructors practice their students‟ perceptions on an English only policy in most of the cases, but do not in some other cases. Therefore, a closer cooperation between students andinstructors is expected in some instances. Consequently, the study showed significant similarity in the perceptions for the use of only English between students and instructors.
